We did not sign up for or use the other tools here: what follows is read from their own public pages on the dates shown, with stated facts kept apart from marketing claims. How we review.

Good fit if

  • LazyApply: you want hundreds or more applications a day and are ready to pay a year up front.
  • LazyApply: you want referral emails sent to employees at the companies you apply to.
  • AIApply: you want a Review or Hybrid mode that holds jobs for your approval.
  • AIApply: you want monthly or quarterly billing and to be charged only for applications that went through.

Look elsewhere if

  • LazyApply: you want to see each application before it is sent, or a trial before paying.
  • AIApply: you want to edit a tailored resume, upload your own cover letter or know which form systems it fills.
  • Either: you want a refund after the first applications have gone out.

The core difference

Both services apply to jobs for you. They differ on who stays in the loop and on how you pay.

LazyApply’s home page says its agent handles the entire application process, and no LazyApply page describes a step where you see an application before it goes. You set filters, type how many jobs to apply to in one run, and press Start applying. AIApply offers three modes: Auto sends every match, Hybrid sends jobs with a fit score of 75 or more and holds the rest, and Review holds every job for your approval. Until an AIApply application reaches ‘Applying Now’ you can swap its resume or cover letter, and the dashboard shows what was sent afterwards.

Where they apply

LazyApply names more places. Its home page lists Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and ZipRecruiter, and its automation page LinkedIn and Indeed. AIApply names none: jobs on systems it cannot drive are skipped with no credit charged, but which systems those are is not listed. For LinkedIn, AIApply describes only its Application Kit, where a pasted job link gets a tailored resume and cover letter that you then submit yourself.

Volume and billing

LazyApply sells a daily cap on yearly plans: 15 a day for $99, 150 for $149, 1,500 for $999. Every plan is bought for a Gmail address. AIApply sells credits by the month or quarter: 100 for $49 a month, 250 for $99, or 750 for $199 a quarter. A credit is spent only on a successful application, with a daily limit you set from 10 to 100. Unused credits roll over while you stay subscribed and are lost on cancelling. Its subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled 24 hours before the period ends; LazyApply’s pages do not say how renewal works.

Documents and email

LazyApply describes no per-job resume tailoring; its plans count resume profiles. It sends referral emails to employees at the companies you apply to. AIApply tailors resumes with a $12 monthly add-on, and the results cannot be edited. Its cover letters are generated automatically, with no upload of your own. AIApply applies from an email inbox it manages, and it may create accounts on employer sites, showing their logins on your dashboard. LazyApply’s pages do not say whether it opens accounts or reads emailed codes.

Refunds and who runs them

LazyApply refunds the first subscription within 30 days only if you applied to fewer than 100 jobs and the product demonstrably failed; renewals are never refunded. It is run by PEVE VISIONS PRIVATE LIMITED in India, with binding arbitration and a class waiver in its terms. AIApply’s fees are generally non-refundable, apart from a reproducible technical issue or an accidental purchase reported within 30 minutes. Auto Apply is not refunded once applications have been sent. It is run by AIApply Limited in England and Wales, with binding arbitration for US residents.

We did not use either service; both are read from their own pages and help centres.

Auto apply
Its Indeed bot applies to as many jobs as you enter in one run, filtered by title, location, salary, remote and date posted, started from a Start applying button. [source]
Auto Apply submits applications for you, based on the criteria you set, including multi-step forms and custom questions. [source]
Who presses Submit
The home page says its agent handles the whole application; no page describes a review step before each application is sent. [source]
Three modes: Auto Mode sends every matching job with no input; Hybrid sends jobs with a fit score of 75 or more and holds the rest for approval; Review Mode needs approval for every job. [source]
In Hybrid mode only jobs at or above a fit score of 75 are sent without approval. [source]
While an application is 'Preparing to Apply' you can change its resume or cover letter; once it is 'Applying Now' it is locked. The documents and answers sent can be seen afterwards on the dashboard. [source]
LinkedIn
Its job-application-automation page names LinkedIn and Indeed as platforms it applies on. [source]
LinkedIn job links can be pasted into the Premium plan's Application Kit to generate a tailored resume and cover letter; the article then has you follow guided steps to submit. It does not describe applying on LinkedIn itself or Easy Apply. [source]
On platform risk, its terms say some platforms restrict automation, that compliance is the user's responsibility, and that it is not liable if a platform suspends, limits or rejects submissions. [source]
Limits and caps
Every plan has a daily application limit. [source]
You set a daily limit between 10 and 100 applications; the queue pauses when it is reached and resets each day. [source]
One credit is one application; a credit is spent only when an application is submitted successfully. Unused credits roll over while the subscription is active and are lost on cancellation. [source]
More credits are bought as an upgrade at $49 for 100, $99 for 250, $199 for 600, $299 for 1,000 or $499 for 2,000 applications; the billing date resets to the purchase date. [source]
Cover letters
A separate AI cover letter generator, with a number of free cover letters. [source]
Cover letters are generated and submitted automatically when an application requires one, in the posting's language; a personal cover letter cannot be uploaded. [source]
Trial
There is no free trial; a live demo is offered by email. [source]
There is no free trial. [source]
Refunds and cancelling
A 30-day refund on the first subscription only, if you applied to fewer than 100 jobs through it and the product demonstrably failed to work as advertised; renewals are not refunded. [source]
The usage limit on a refund. [source]
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; fees are generally non-refundable, except a reproducible technical issue or an accidental purchase reported within 30 minutes with no meaningful use. [source]
Auto Apply is not refundable once applications have been submitted, and outcomes (no interviews or offers) are no ground for a refund. [source]
UK buyers of digital services acknowledge that they lose the 14-day right to cancel. [source]
Data, accounts and risk
Its Chrome Web Store listing declares that it handles personally identifiable information, authentication information, personal communications, location, user activity and website content. [source]
It applies with an AIApply email address whose inbox it manages, so employers' confirmations, one-time passwords and login links reach it; OTP emails go to that inbox's Deleted folder. [source]

Questions

Is LazyApply or AIApply cheaper?

It depends on volume and commitment. LazyApply's Basic is $99 a year for 15 applications a day; AIApply's Auto Apply is $49 a month for 100 applications. Over a year, LazyApply's Basic costs less, but you pay it all up front with no trial.

AIApply or LazyApply: which lets me approve applications?

AIApply. Its Review mode waits for your approval on every job and its Hybrid mode on jobs below a fit score of 75. No LazyApply page describes a review step.

Do both apply on LinkedIn?

LazyApply's job-automation page names LinkedIn and Indeed. AIApply's pages describe pasting LinkedIn links into its Application Kit for documents, then submitting yourself; they do not describe applying on LinkedIn or Easy Apply.

Which has the better refund terms?

Neither is generous. LazyApply refunds the first subscription within 30 days only if you applied to fewer than 100 jobs and it demonstrably failed. AIApply's Auto Apply is not refundable once applications have been submitted.

What do they say about account risk?

LazyApply's home page claims profiles will never get blocked, with nothing to back it. AIApply's terms say some platforms restrict automation and that a suspension is your responsibility.
